Testing & Validation

Eutsler’s in-house QA lab validates every design and production batch under ASTM standards.

Property / Test Standard Typical Range / Specification
Hardness ASTM D2240 30 – 95 Shore A
Tensile Strength ASTM D412 1,500 – 4,500 psi
Elongation ASTM D412 150 – 700 %
Tear Strength ASTM D624 100 – 400 ppi
Compression Set ASTM D395 < 25 %

All products undergo 100 % visual inspection for voids, flash, and surface imperfections, followed by random dimensional audits and cure verification testing.

Engineering Design Guidance

Grommet Design

  • Compression ratio: Typically 10–25 % of cross-section for optimal retention and damping
  • Groove fit: Maintain 0.005–0.010 in interference for secure mount retention
  • Material selection: Low durometer for isolation, high durometer for structural grommets
  • Edge design: Radiused or chamfered edges prevent tearing under load

Washer Design

  • Seal face compression: 10–20 % typical for static sealing
  • Bonded configurations: Controlled adhesive thickness (0.5–2 mils) for load transfer
  • Vibration damping: Select low-modulus compounds or bi-material layers for resonance control
  • Torque retention: Ensure sufficient hardness (≥ 70 Shore A) for bolted flange sealing

Applications

Eutsler grommets and washers are used across a wide spectrum of industries and performance-critical systems:

  • Oil & Gas: Isolation grommets, packer element washers, bonded metal seals
  • Aerospace: Vibration mounts, fuel and hydraulic line grommets, pressure seals
  • Automotive: Shock and suspension isolators, NVH damping washers
  • Industrial Equipment: Cable pass-throughs, pump mounts, and sealing interfaces
  • Energy & Power: Transformer and turbine isolation grommets
  • Medical / Food Service: Silicone washers and grommets compliant with FDA and USP Class VI

Advantages of Eutsler Grommet & Washer Technology

  • Custom-Engineered Compounds: Tailored chemistry for each environment and load condition
